Different Faces of Mambukal

Exploring Mambukal was very relaxing.
A change of scenery is really what I need.
I love to explore hidden gems in each places I visit.

The place smells like rotten egg. Not that too much
disgusting to your nose hehehe...the place has a lot of
small geyser type. there was a main place for the sulfur
spring where you can really fry an egg!

The whole place was filled with water.

We went to the Butterfly House as well. Mommy and Baby Alligator included. :)

I guess, one of the best (and most romantic) place I should say,
Is a lake in the middle of the forest. They say this is the most
expensive part where bungalows here range from 6k up per night.

The flowers are amazing....

We're off to Bacolod City tomorrow...
but this is one journey I would truly miss and
would like to come back...

The Mambukal Experience

The moment we got in, I started to haggle the price for a room.
I'm very happy to get it at 1k, fully airconditioned, matrimonial bed,
hot and cold shower plus a kitchen. We rest for a while then grab
something to eat. For P65, you get a Bacolod Inasal good for 2.
Thanks to Jong of Cebu for taking care of our meals!

Next stop, trekking to the falls! But before that, we visit the
humming bird's nest. Mambukal holds 7 falls stop.
It was great for us, doing it as a family, but warn you, I realize
I'm getting old! I can only go as far as the third! From the 4th onwards,
there would be no holding line so it's not suitable for kids. :)

After the trekking, We all went for to the dipping pool
to relieve all those tired muscles. P50 until tomorrow!

We end the night by going over to check on the bats!
They're HUGE!!!

Another adventure tomorrow!

Bacolod Getaway

Ahhh..Happy New year to all of us!
I was really thinking on how I am going to start the year right.
I want to do it with a Bang!
What's the best thing to do?
What else, but to TRAVEL!

First stop, Western Visayas.
Let's go first to the City of Smiles, Bacolod.

I'm very happy being able to get 4 seats in Cebu Pac's P1 fare.
This will be my kids and my husband's first plane ride.
I really want them to get used to riding planes and visiting places
as I would traveling quite often from now on.

Our flight is schedule for 4:45am. Waiting was alright. Though I know,
deep inside, my co-passengers are having a second thought about it.
Finally, it's boarding time...

The flight was alright. We arrived in Bacolod 10 minutes early.
Since I have plan and research ahead of time for this trip,
commuting is very easy. If you know where you want to go exactly,
opt for taking the long way. Vans in the airport goes from P300 per head
to a whooping P1.5k to Bacolod City. We grab a tricycle outside the airport
and commute going to the town proper for a mere P10/head. Seeing a lot of
grasses and sugar cane makes me really feel at home.

We grab a quick bite once we set foot in town. 2 viands, 4 rice, 2 soda and 2 milo
for only a P100. We took a jeepney ride going to Bacolod City proper. From there,
we went to the minivan station all the way to Mambukal. The jeep was P7 while the
van was P35 bucks. It was a long ride. More than an hour since Mambukal is located
at the foot of Mt. Kanlaon. The view was so refreshing. Can't wait to get to our destination.
